STFD3 responded to a residential structure fire on Jackson St. Units discovered a residential structure with fire and smoke showing from the front of the residence.  Firefighters quickly made entry to extinguish the fire and search for victims. It was determined that the house wasn't occupied at the time of the fire, however a small dog was found inside with obvious complications due to smoke and heat. The dog was removed from the home and placed on oxygen by fire personnel. The fire was quickly extinguished. St. Tammany Fire District 4 (Mandeville, LA) assisted with fire suppression efforts. The Louisiana State Fire Marshalls Office was notified and arrived on scene to determine the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported on scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The dog was transported to an emergency vet by a neighbor.
