St. Tammany Fire District 3 participated in a multi-agency house burn with St. Tammany Fire District 1 in Lacombe. Our Firefighters worked together and gained some valuable training. These training evolutions are required by the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana (PIAL) in order to reduce or maintain our rating, which lowers the fire insurance premiums to our tax payers.

St. Tammany Fire District 3 along with Fire District 1 responded to a vehicle fire on Highway 190 near Kay Drive in Lacombe. Upon arrival, responding personnel found a work van fully involved with fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was undetermined.

On Tuesday, May 17, 2016, St. Tammany Fire District 3, Fire District 1, and Acadian Ambulance along with the Sheriffs Office and State Police responded to I-12 West Bound near mile marker 74 for the report of multiple vehicle accidents.  Upon arrival, it was determined that several vehicles were involved in seperate vehicle accidents along the interstate.  Along with several refusals for treatment and transport, some patients were transported by St. Tammany Fire District 3 and Acadian Ambulance to area hospitals.  The cause of the accidents are being investigated by State Police.

St. Tammany Fire District 3 participated in the annual Lacombe Mardi Gras parade.  Sparky threw stuffed animals and Mardi Gras bead from the back of our 1955 Willis Jeep Fire Engine. Our Tanker 31 also led the parade that rolled from North Mill Rd. on Hwy 190 and ended near the post office.  No incidents were reported during the parade.  We hope everyone had a safe and happy Mardi Gras!

St. Tammany Fire District 3 responded to several accidents as a result of slow traffic during the removal of an 18 wheeler involved in an accident early that morning. The vehicle pictured rear ended an 18 wheeler while in stop-and-go traffic. Two individuals were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.

STFD3 responded to a residential structure fire on Jackson St. Units discovered a residential structure with fire and smoke showing from the front of the residence.  Firefighters quickly made entry to extinguish the fire and search for victims. It was determined that the house wasn't occupied at the time of the fire, however a small dog was found inside with obvious complications due to smoke and heat. The dog was removed from the home and placed on oxygen by fire personnel. The fire was quickly extinguished. St. Tammany Fire District 4 (Mandeville, LA) assisted with fire suppression efforts. The Louisiana State Fire Marshalls Office was notified and arrived on scene to determine the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported on scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The dog was transported to an emergency vet by a neighbor. 

St. Tammany Fire District 3 responded to a vehicle fire on Hwy 190.  Upon arrival, FD3 personnel discovered a fully involved pick up truck.  The fire appears to have started in the engine compartment but the cause is undetermined.  The fire was quickly extinguished by FD3 personnel.

On Friday, April 24, 2015 St. Tammany Fire District 3 responded to a motor vehicle accident at Jack Batiste Rd. and Lake Rd.  A single vehicle was found overturned with the single occupant out of the vehicle.  The driver was assessed and transport by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation.
